Easiest way to clean your gold/silver/platinum caps
Cleaning your caps are easy and essential. You can use a soft /medium bristle brush with toothpaste to gently clean the surface caps.
Please rinse your caps with clean water before putting them in your mouth. We recommend using this method every day before your wear your caps.
A jewellery cleaning solution is effective in restoring the colour of your caps. This can be purchased from our website upon availability. Jewellery cleaners can be very toxic so please seek advice from your doctor prior using and you must also rinse your caps thoroughly after using this method.
Using a jewellery polishing cloth removes tarnish from gold/silver goods. The cloth is impregnated with an extremely fine polishing compound so you can polish your caps without the fear of harming semi-precious or precious metals, stones and crystals.
You can also send your caps to us and we can restore them for a small fee. This will have your caps looking brand-new again.
Daily use
Please avoid eating and sleeping with your caps in, you should pay more attention to brushing and flossing to prevent potential problems. Food and other debris may become trapped between the teeth and the cap allowing bacteria to collect and produce acids. The acids can cause tooth decay and harm gum tissue. Bacteria may also contribute to bad breath. If you avoid cleaning your caps there is a chance for the cap/s to irritate the surrounding oral tissue and wear away the enamel around the opposing tooth.
Wearing poligrip / fixadent is designed to make your caps feel more comfortable when you wear them. It is formulated to give you long all day hold. Even if your caps fit perfectly, food particles can still enter the cap making it uncomfortable to wear. We advise every customer to wear poligrip for full satisfaction.
Smoking is not recommended at any time. Cigarettes contain harmful toxins that can easily coat the surface of your caps making it resemble copper. Getting a higher carat gold does not stop your caps from changing colour, however it takes longer to tarnish which will have your caps shinning for a longer period.
To prevent problems, try and limit the amount of time spent wearing removable caps. If you already wear a cap, you should remove it before eating. It should be cleaned daily to remove bacteria and food debris. Only use jewellery cleaners if it is essential because they can be dangerous to ingest.
If your caps become loose for some reason, you can easily adjust the fitment to your teeth by taking the cap off the mould/ teeth and your index finger and thumb to squeeze the caps to the correct size then putting it back into your mouth. If the metal is too thick to squeeze, please contact us on one of our social platforms or email us at support@mkgrillz.co.uk and we will guide you on how to adjust the fitment right.
PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ADJUST THE CAPS WITHOUT CONTACTING US. THAT WILL VOID ANY REFUNDS AND US HELPING YOU TO MAKE IT FIT.
